I'm gonna burn up just like a rocket Take out a bullet put it in my pocket Givin me a fork, stick it in the socket Don't you know I'm burning just like a rocket And I don't know where you're goin' And I don't know where you been And I don't know why you stay out late at night Maybe I'll know when you're gone I'm gonna burn up just like a pyre Givin' me your fuel, add it to my fire Losin' all your lovin' gettin' no desire Don't you know I'm burning just like a pyre And I don't know what you're thinkin' And I don't know what's the plan And I don't know anything at all Baby why don't you give me a hand? I'm gonna burn up just like a rocket Take out a bullet put it in my pocket Givin me a fork, stick it in the socket Don't you know I'm burning just like a rocket Editor's note: this is the first song I wrote on the guitar. I tried to write it like "Cut Like a Buffalo" by the Dead Weather but the guitar had other ideas.

Labor Wall 02:16
Stuck outside the labor wall down the street and cross the hall I can hear mothers call to the unborn children: "Where you goin now my son? Soon you know we won't be one Goes away but there it comes All the way inside" (Guitar solo) On the streets the people cry and I stop to ask them why They don't know they only sigh "Another one today" And On the streets the people cry and I stop to ask them why They don't know they only sigh "Another one today" Editor's note: this one has a weird dreamlike quality to it for me.

Valley Song 05:05
I went down to the valley To see what I had done I went down to the valley Under the gun I went down to the valley All my life I went down to the valley Lookin for a wife I went down to the valley To see what was there I went down to the valley I was unaware I went down to the valley A chill was in the air I went down to the valley Bodies everywhere I went down to the valley Looking at the sky I went down to the valley Feeling rather high I went down to the valley Knowing I would die I went down to the valley For the time was nigh I went down to the valley Looking for a sign I went down to the valley And I spilled the wine Editor's note: Lovecraftian vibes?

I am floating now Everything's gone white No more killing or death now This is my only fight Here in the hour of darkness Everyone else has gone away I alone will stay Stay for the hour of darkness I know why you're here And you've nothing left to fear Fear in the hour of darkness Can't you see this night Brilliant in shadow-light Light won't serve us for long Tell me if that's wrong Light from the hour of darkness Editor's note: Originally titled "In My Hour of Darkness" after the Gram Parsons song (that I hadn't heard yet). I changed it after hearing Gram's song.

Alexandra 03:54
My Alexandra Your shield restrains me Patience is a virtue So you teach me My Alexandra The moon did brightly glow Taking me away To that place I always know And I see you And I hear you call my name And I feel you And you know I show no shame My Alexandra And when your ship Did take me I had no strength left To flee But when you learned, yeah, To love me It was then I was free My Alexandra Callin out your name Alexandra I feel no shame There's nobody else For me to blame Editor's note: I don't have a note for this one, I just like the song.

The Iceman Sleeps In the Cave Alone I went Outside to flee my home We went Beyond To seek New Life But as We came We lost Our way Oh yeah We ventured Deeper Into The unknown And then We lost All Control (Instrumental break I: In this part the Iceman descends upon the explorers and mercilessly massacres them) I am Alone now All That's left The beast He lingers He torments The deaths I will Not rest Till one Is done That thing Will be The end of me Oh yeah The end Oh yeah Traveller's monologue: My body is frozen solid I am alone now in a small cave On the hillside My friends and loved ones lay dead Outside I hear it I hear the Iceman Cometh I can smell his horrible odor It is the odor The odor of my loved ones he has slain Suddenly, he is upon me And with his horrible claws and fangs He tears Into my flesh In a horrible orgy of destruction and chaos Only the consciousness remains as the body is torn to pieces (Instrumental break II: As the Iceman shrieks horribly, the last survivor's body is torn to pieces) Editor's note: there's a 17 minute long version from around 2015 I have somewhere in the vault. Let that sink in.

An inburnt scream Across the sea Today nobody knows me I have to make The people see Just what it means To live free I'm going on A journey now Why don't you come with me Go sailing in my castle All around the sea In my Technicolor Dreamboat Sailing free through the sea Technicolor Dreamboat All through the see-ee-eea Everyone is greedy Lying to themselves Doing what the people say is The only thing that sells I'll tell you all About it now What I think is fair No more killing or evil now The blood is in the air Not in my Technicolor Dreamboat Sailing free through the sea Technicolor Dreamboat Sailing free, you and me Technicolor Dreamboat Oh yeah Editor's note: I remember coming up with the idea for this when I was "vacationing" in San Francisco with the Boy Scouts in 2012. The title is a spin on "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat."

Goodbye Moon 03:05
Goodbye Moon Sorry I had to leave so soon Goodbye stars Chased wealth in fancy cars Goodbye wind I'll miss you most until the end No dogs to howl No birds to cry No moon to glow, no evening sky No stars tonight No people, uptight Not even a gentle summer's breeze Goodbye wind You were once my closest friend (Guitar solos) No moon to glow, no eyes alive Only shadows in the divide Editor's note: I came up with the title for this one while I was on a cross-country run in high school.

#99 02:31
None, it's an instrumental. However, the guitar goes: do do do do do dodododododo do do do do do do do do do da da da da da DA da da da da da da da da da dadadadada da da da da da DA da da da da da da da da da dadadadada Editor's note: the title for this one comes from a tascam portable studio. You could make new projects for songs and the projects would be saved as "untitled-001" and so on. When I went to record the demo for this, I was on "untitled-099" so I named the song #99.

Red Lantern 02:25
Out in the night In the somber mist Steal away The thoughts you missed Let em in out from the cold Bring em back into the fold Dreams are your own Dreams can come true A red lantern will bring you light In the foggy depths Of a dim night And as your memories flood you Let em be the ones that soothe All your life, you've waited for this The final embrace of death's kiss Dreaming of your home Dream up something new A red lantern will be your light Thru the foggy depths of a dim night Red lanterns will light your way And you'll see your dreams in the breaking day (instrumental) A red lantern will be your light Thru the foggy depths of a dim night Thru the foggy depths of a dim night Editor's note: The title for this one comes from an unfinished Laura Nyro album. She was going to record it in the early '70s but she semi-retired. This track wasn't originally on the 2015 release of "One" but I included it here to replace "Bleeding Rose," since that song sucks.
